大阪・京都 3日間モデルコース|グルメ・絶景・交通・予算まとめ

Traveling back from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) may feel a bit overwhelming, especially if it's your first time or if you're flying on a late-night flight. While the airport isn't massive, it can get crowded during peak hours — particularly between 9 PM and midnight when most international flights depart.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about the departure process, airport layout, check-in tips, customs screening, duty-free shopping, and some final checklist reminders to help you wrap up your trip smoothly and stress-free.
Terminal 1 handles all international departures, including Korean flights operated by AirAsia, Jin Air, and Malaysia Airlines.
Make sure to arrive at least 3 hours before your flight — queues can be longer than expected!
Here’s how the process goes:
Step 1: Airline Check-in Counter
Show your passport and flight ticket (E-ticket is fine). Be careful with baggage weight — excess fees apply strictly here.
Step 2: Security Screening
All electronic devices like laptops, cameras, and power banks must be removed from your bag.
Liquid items must be under 100ml, placed in a transparent zip bag.
Step 3: Immigration / Passport Control
Show your passport and boarding pass. Note: eGate is NOT available for departures, only for arrivals.
Step 4: Boarding Gate
Check your gate number regularly on the digital screen. Gates can change unexpectedly.
After passport control, you’ll enter the departure hall.
Though the duty-free area is relatively small, you can still find essentials like:
Alcohol and tobacco
Perfume and skincare
Chocolates and local snacks
Simple souvenir items
If you still have Malaysian Ringgit, it’s better to spend them here rather than exchanging back into KRW — the airport exchange rate is poor.
Lounge Tip:
If you have a Priority Pass, you can enter the Plaza Premium Lounge, which offers:
Buffet-style food and drinks
Wi-Fi and comfy seats
Shower rooms (especially helpful before long flights)
You can also access it for around MYR 120–140 if paying directly.
Before heading to your gate, go over this quick checklist to make sure you haven’t missed anything:
Passport with 6+ months validity
Boarding pass (printed or mobile)
Checked baggage under allowed limit
All devices/power banks separated for scanning
Liquids under 100ml in zip bag
Duty-free shopping finished
Know your gate & departure time
Backup charger or power bank ready
